CHI KUNG lays the foundation, standing alone: direct in approach, open to all, developing postures that become touchstones of a physical discipline. It is an ‘inner-training’, but one that need not be linked in a complex movement series.
Its aim is to free ourselves from the dullness of habit, instead to let the body and mind intuitively grow into a natural well-being.
This is the very beginning of health.
Gentleness removes tension, awareness replaces tiredness, light shines through stain. Almost without realising it, we have come into meditation.
And should we wish, there is indeed deep personal study to be undertaken here: which is of opening up our Spirit to the enquiry, to be in stillness yet to move spontaneously where it moves.
Perhaps, if our preparation is enough, a moon of wisdom will arise in our minds.
